About CaboDePalos.com

An independent visitor guide to the cape, the marine reserve and the coast around them, written for people planning their first trip.

CaboDePalos.com exists because the best things here take a little knowing. How do dive permits work? Which cove is sheltered today? Can you drive into Calblanque in August? This is an independent travel guide to Cabo de Palos and the country around it, written to be useful before you go and on the day.

We are not an official tourism website, we do not represent the marine reserve or the regional park, and we are not connected with any dive centre, hotel or tour operator.

What we cover

  • What there is to see: the marine reserve, the lighthouse, the harbour and the coves.
  • Which tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
  • How to get here from the airports and from Cartagena, with realistic journey times.
  • Calblanque, La Manga, the Mar Menor, San Pedro del Pinatar, Cartagena, La Unión and Murcia.
  • Where to sleep, in the village, on La Manga and in the city.
  • When to come, and what each season is like.

How we research

Practical details — access rules, journey times, seasons — are checked against operators and official sources and reviewed regularly. Where something changes from year to year, as the Calblanque summer bus, the lighthouse visits and the condition of the Mar Menor do, we say so plainly and tell you to verify rather than pretend to a certainty that does not exist. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide.

How the site is funded

We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and link to Trip.com for accommodation. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placement and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

Timetables change, restaurants change hands, rules are revised. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us via the contact page.
